Gia, Gaia & Gigi
I've been thinking of these 3 names for a while now. WDYT of them and do you think any of them can stand on their own (not be a nn for anything)? Gia (JEE-ah) Gaia (GY-ah)

I'd much rather they have longer forms, personally. As someone with a short name, I always like the idea of having options. Gaia might have the best chance at standing on it's own, but the other two would probably get the assumption that their name is short for something.

Gia might be ok as a full name, but I prefer it as a nn. Same with Gaia. Gigi should definitely be a nn. It was my mom's nn growing up and I've been thinking about using a name that would have Gigi has a nn to honor her.

I love Gia but I'm not sure if it can stand well on its own, I'd prefer it as a nn for Gianna. Unfortionately I could never use it bc I love too many names that end in "anna."

I love Gaia (GUY_ah) and I definitely think that it can stand alone. Gia could, although might be better as a nn, but Gigi is just too nicknamey sounding.

It was my mom's nn growing <img src = http://www.babynameaddicts.com/forums/html/emoticons/ty.gif img> and I've been thinking about using a name that would have Gigi has a nn to honor her. Mind if I ask what her name is? I'm trying to find some names that work as a full name for Gigi. Her name is Jeri. She got Gigi from her brother who's less than a year older than her and just couldn't say Gigi. One of my aunts still calls her Gigi to this day. I don't think it's too clear, but I guess that's how many nicknames come about. I've seen Gigi used as a nn for Georgia (2 Gs), but I was mainly thinking about using initials...Gwendolyn Grace or something like than. While there are many G names that I like a lot, I just don't LOVE them like I do some others. Plus, if I were to use a name like Gwendolyn, I would want the nn to be Gwen and not Gigi. Oh well...I pretty much gave up on that idea awhile ago, but I do still think about it occasionaly. Sorry for hi-jacking this thread...

Gaia and Gia can stand on their own. I suppose Gigi could, too, but I like it better as a nn for Genevieve or Georgia. Gaia/Gigi are my favorites. I don't like Gia.

Sorry, I don't like any of them.

My son has a Gia in his class, first grade. I like it. Gaia is not my style. Friends sister is Gigi, short for Giselle.
